Grammarly
Black Ink Circle
About the project
At Grammarly, I created the Black Ink Circle ERG brand and guidelines to bring clarity, consistency, and craft to how the group shows up across internal communications, event marketing, and cross-ERG moments. Black Ink Circle is an Employee Resource Group for black employees and allies focused on building community, belonging, and space for honest dialogue. The system established a cohesive visual baseline—logo usage, layout rules, and reusable templates. Every touchpoint was designed to feel intentional and unmistakably “Black Ink” while still aligning with Grammarly’s broader brand standards.
The identity uses a bold, typographic mark paired with subtle green, red, and yellow accents to create recognizable differentiation and cultural signal without overpowering the content. These guidelines enabled high-quality materials to be produced quickly and consistently across presentations, ERG marketing, and collaborations—including recent partnership moments with ERGs at Discord, Twitch, and Figma.
